For General Candidates

  • Male: 5 km in 24 minutes

  • Female: 1.6 km in 8 minutes 30 seconds

For Ladakh Region Candidates (Special Relaxation)

  • Male: 1.6 km in 7 minutes

  • Female: 800 meters in 5 minutes

This test checks your body measurements (Height, Chest, Weight).

🔹 Height Requirement

  • Male: 170 cm

  • Female: 157 cm

  • Relaxation: SC, ST, and certain categories (like Gorkhas, Garhwalis, North East candidates) get relaxation.

🔹 Chest Measurement (Only for Male)

  • Unexpanded: 80 cm

  • Expanded: 85 cm

  • Expansion Required: Minimum 5 cm

🔹 Weight

  • Proportionate to height and age (as per medical standards).

Eyesight / Vision Test 👀

  • Without glasses / surgery only (spectacles, Lasik, or color blindness not allowed).

  • Standard:

    • Better eye – 6/6

    • Worse eye – 6/9

  • Should not have squint eye, night blindness, or color blindness.

  • Candidate must have normal hearing in both ears.

  • No deafness, chronic ear infections, discharge, or perforation of eardrum.

  • Candidate must have minimum 14 dental points.

  • Teeth should be healthy, well-aligned, and free from disease.

  • No severe dental cavities, gum disease, or missing critical teeth.

The following conditions will disqualify a candidate:

  • Knock Knee (knees touch each other when standing straight)

  • Flat Foot (no natural arch in foot)

  • Varicose Veins (swollen/twisted veins in legs)

  • Hernia

  • Piles

  • Hydrocele

  • Deformities of spine, chest, or limbs

  • Skin diseases (chronic eczema, leucoderma, vitiligo, etc.)

  • Candidate must be free from tuberculosis, asthma, or chronic respiratory diseases.

  • Proper chest expansion is checked (at least 5 cm).

  • Should not have congenital heart disease, murmurs, or high/low BP.

  • ECG may be conducted if required.

  • No enlargement of liver, spleen, or kidney issues.

  • Free from stones in gall bladder/kidney.

  • No history of abdominal surgery (except appendix/hernia repair if fully healed)

  • Candidate should not have epilepsy, psychiatric illness, depression, or nervous system disorder.

  • Proper mental stability & alertness is checked.

  • Free from chronic skin diseases, leprosy, large scars, tattoos on face/neck.

  • Small tattoos on inner arms or cultural tattoos are allowed (as per govt. rules).

Matriculation (10th Class) Certificate & Marksheet – Proof of date of birth & qualification.

  • Must be issued by competent authority (Tehsildar/SDM, etc.).

  • Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Discharge certificate & service proof.

  • Domicile/Residence Certificate (for State/UT quota).

  • NCC Certificate (if claiming bonus marks).

  • Sports Certificate (if applying under sports quota).

  • Disability Certificate (PwD) – Must be in prescribed format & issued by Medical Board.

  • Recent passport-size colored photographs (as per SSC guidelines).

  • Same as uploaded in online application.

  • Carry originals + at least 2–3 self-attested photocopies of each document.

  • Arrange documents in a proper file/folder.

  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) if candidate is working in any Govt. department.

  • Affidavit/Declaration if any mismatch in name/date of birth across documents.

  • Marriage Certificate (if applicable for name change after marriage).

1. Based on Written Exam Marks

  • Only the Computer-Based Exam (160 marks) is counted.

  • PET/PST & Medical are qualifying only (not added in marks).

2. Category & State Wise

  • Merit list is prepared separately for UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, Ex-Servicemen.

  • Also prepared state-wise & force-wise according to vacancies.

3. Force Allocation

  • Candidates are allotted BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, Assam Rifles, NIA, SSF.

  • Allocation depends on:

    • Exam marks

    • Category

    • State quota

    • Force preference filled in application

4. Tie-Breaking Rules

  • If two candidates have same marks → preference given by:

    1. Marks in exam sections (GK > Reasoning > Maths > English/Hindi)

    2. Older candidate (DOB)

    3. Alphabetical order of name

SSC GD (General Duty) is a recruitment exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for constables in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NIA, SSF & Assam Rifles.
